Group Therapy & Social Skills For Kids In Dallas

At BBHC, we understand the unique challenges that young adults face today. In fact, new research indicates that the human brain continues to grow and develop through adolescence and up until our mid-20s! So as you, or the young adult in your life, gear up to venture out into the world, there is still much social and emotional development to come. Our behavioral health facility offers the development of social skill groups to help childrenteens, and young adults prepare for everyday interactions. Our psychologists take a unique approach with their group therapy and counseling services to fit the unique needs of this age group and help them to learn, grow, and acquire the skills they need to be successful in today’s ever-changing world.

Our experienced staff provides children's behavioral therapy for young adults struggling with a variety of issues, including social skills for kids, preparing for transition away from home, academic issues in college, relationship issues, “failure to launch,” substance use, behavioral issues, and clinical issues such as depression and anxiety. We also understand that parenting doesn’t stop once a child turns 18! Our behavioral therapy team can work with parents on the unique challenges they face parenting their young adult as they begin to enter into the real world. Contact our office in Dallas, TX for a social disorder assessment or learning disabilities counseling. We are also currently offering virtual mental health services through our virtual Telehealth sessions.

Social skill development for this age group is based around creating art and playtime. Participants will share materials and space while practicing taking turns and speaking before the group.

This age range practices social interactions through group projects, game playing, and imagination. We also employ guided conversation to instill empowering phrases into the mindsets of participants.

10-12 Year Olds

Therapy for older children focuses on normalizing the potentially difficult transitions taking place at time of life. Sessions will include role playing, team-building activities, and more challenging projects.
