Play therapy: which is a form of therapy tailored to address and assist children needs in a way that feels most natural and safe to them…..PLAY!!! The BPBC team has been training in a variety of different play therapy techniques in order to best work with a multitude of differing issues that children might face. The BPBC play therapist work to create a warm and inviting atmosphere were the child feels safe and supported in order to share, connect, and express their feelings to the therapist.

This includes developmental issues and arenas such as depression, mood, anxiety and behavior problems, and issues stemming from the environment, such as divorce, re-marriage, adoption, school and traumatic events.

This also includes parenting the challenging child, whether that be the child with sensory problems, or the behavior/emotional issues in children.

Counseling work with children diagnosed with unique differences including ADHD, Asperger's Disorder, Learning Disorders or Differences.

Problems relating to an unexpected event. This can be the death of a family member, a traumatic experience, or any event that has had an emotional impact.

Behavior issues, that includes making up a unique behavior plan for your child to motivate him or her in the areas of concern. Points are awarded along with prizes to help encourage your child in their progress towards success.

Activity Therapy: This is a form of therapy that works well for pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults. Through a variety of expressive art techniques the therapist works to build rapport with slightly older children who may no longer be appropriate for play therapy but are not yet ready for adult talk therapy. Activity therapy provide a developmentally appropriate way to express thoughts and feelings without feeling the pressure or anxieties that might be associated with talk therapy.

Individual Adult Therapy: Will be tailored to fit the unique needs and situation of each client. Each therapist at BPBC has been training to work with adults with a variety of different presenting concerns.

Filial therapy training/Child Parent Relationship Training: This is a type of therapy that involved both the parent and the child. A therapist will work individually or in a group with parent to teach parents some of the crucial skills that are utilized in a therapeutic setting.

Family Counseling Services: This type of therapy can be done in a variety of ways. Each family is different and we at BPBC understand this. There is no two family dynamics that are exactly alike and we will work to find a way to make family therapy the most beneficial for your family. Depending on the age ranges of family members and developmental differences of particular family members the BPBC therapist will try to create a unique and individualized plan to incorporate all members of the family in a way that is most helpful an meaningful to them.

Marriage/Couples Counseling Services:This type of therapy is intended for persons who are married or in partnered relationship that may need outside assistance and therapeutic insight into the current state of the relationship. Our marriage and couples therapists will work to build rapport with each person and provide a safe environment in which to work on the relationship.
